Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup butter, softened

  • ¾ cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp sour cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • For Frosting:

  • ½ cup butter, softened

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1–2 tbsp milk

  • Food coloring and sprinkles (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg, sour cream, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture to form a soft dough.
  • Roll dough into small balls and place on a lined baking sheet.
  • Flatten slightly with your hand.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes until the cookies are set but not browned.
  • Let cookies cool completely before frosting.
  • Mix frosting ingredients until smooth, spread on cookies, and top with sprinkles.
