  • 1 cup carrots, chopped

  • 1 cup celery, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup diced ham (optional)

Directions

  • Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
  • Add onion, garlic, carrots, and celery and sauté until softened.
  • Add split peas and broth.
